This might sound odd, but I’m shutting down the “make money online” section of Learn Financial Planning. I’m currently making a part-time income online, but haven’t yet fully switched to full-time. I’m doing fantastic thus far — much better than I expected to when I started building websites with the purpose of income this past fall.
But the more I research the internet marketing websites, the “make money online” blogs and the Problogger immitations, the more I’m convinced that someone should create a resource that details 10 or so “make money online” blueprints. Step by step what you should do to achieve a full-time income online.
I didn’t start this section of the website for that purpose. I started it to encourage people to buy a domain and hosting, and try to make money online the way I was. But there is more than one way to make money online, and I want to give every “method” a fair shot.
I bought a domain name several months ago, and created a sales page for dirt cheap writing. The page and the freelance writing offer are both outdated. In the next few months, I’ll be building that resource I’ve dreamed of. I’ll write several articles series explaining everything you need to know and how you can find the tools to get what you need done. Here’s a preview:
The Problogger Code – build a blog about a topic you are passionate about, and write several fantastic articles every week or so about your issue. With time, people will discover you (and you can market yourself) and follow you. You can have a large enough following to make money online.
The Grizzly Code – Pick a niche and get a free blog like blogspot. Focus exclusively on search engines for laser targeted traffic. Your main marketing strategy is through link building. Put adsense in highly visible places so people naturally click the ads.
The Affiliate Code – Pick a niche that offers a high-paying affiliate program. Build a nice looking professional site. Rank well in the search engines for a topic that is relative. Focus on conversions.
The LFP Code – This is the method that I use, and it’s a combination of the two above methods. I use a Wordpress blog that allows one to use two different “designs” for pages and posts. I’ll describe this more on the site.
The CPC Code – Find out how to get traffic from adwords cheaply and bid for topics that you can monetize well, such as affiliate programs, affiliate reviews, etc.
I’m not an expert on all of these methods, though I’m ranking on page one of google for “financial planning” and “online savings account” — two topics with dozens of millions of competing pages. I’ll make sure you can see all of the possible “codes” for success, so you can build an online income within a year or two, depending on your actions, of course.
